Greenville, S.C. — Stevens Aerospace and Defense Systems, LLC (Stevens) is pleased to announce that Jim Williams, Senior Vice President, is celebrating 50 years with Stevens. Jim started his career by first serving our country in 1968 by enlisting in the U.S. Army’s Aviation Branch. Jim was honorably discharged after a tour in Vietnam as a Technical Observer in the right seat of an OV-1 Mohawk then served an additional 18 months in Germany. Upon returning to the states, Jim joined Stevens Aviation working in the avionics department at the Stevens Greer, S.C. Jim was appointed to Command Sargeant Major in 1999 then retired from the National Guard after 34 years of service in 2007. At Stevens, Jim has worked in several positions across the company starting out as an avionics bench test repair technician, progressing to avionics installations and green aircraft completions, as well as successfully increasing business in both aircraft and MRO sales. In 1996, Jim transitioned into Stevens’ military and government programs division by developing program sales including large initiatives such as the U.S. Navy’s GPS modification program, U.S. Army C-12U to C-12V upgrade, several depot level maintenance contract programs, and recently the U.S. Army’s C-12U (King Air 200) G1000NXi highly modified avionics conversion program. “Jim has been an integral part of Stevens’ expansion into government work”, said Christian Sasfai, President, Stevens Aerospace. “His technical knowledge, coupled with his military service, makes him uniquely qualified to offer the best solutions to our government customers”. Jim currently oversees all of Stevens’ government and military operations and continues to influence and drive program sales.
